On Saturday, October 10, after challenging runners from 26 schools at the Benedictine University Eagle Invitational, SXU's cross country team walked away with 9th place and a team time of 112:23. Junior Graciella Patino led the team again with a time of 21:40 in the 5K showdown at the University of Wisconsin National Cross Country Course.

Patino (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora) emerged from 140 runners to earn 35th place, helping the Cougars gain a team score of 240 and rank above 17 other schools, including the host of the invite, Benedictine University. Senior Jennifer Selvage (Midlothian, Ill./Oak Forest) was only seconds behind Patino with 21:43 and 37th place. Senior Susie Bansley (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) ran the team's 3rd best time, 22:37, and earned 58th place.

Other team members that ran for SXU were freshman Laura Dignan (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) with 22:52 (66th), senior Amy Kauth (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) with 23:29 (74th), and freshman Amy Flavin (Lawton, Mich. /Lawton) with 25:38 (109th).
