CHICAGO - Julian Scott, a senior guard/forward at Hillcrest High School in Country Club Hills, Ill., will continue his athletics and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's basketball program. Scott averaged 12.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists during his senior season with the Hawks under veteran coach Tom Cappel.

Scott helped lead Hillcrest to a conference championship in the SICA Central and a runner-up finish in the Class AA Chicago Heights Sectional. Scott was named to the 2005-06 Daily Southtown Boy's Basketball All-Area Team, the 2006 High School All-Star Team, and the 2005 Chicago Heights Classic All-Tournament Team. The All-SICA North-Silver selection is expected to play primarily at guard next season for the Cougars. Scott plans to pursue at degree in business management, while at Saint Xavier University.

"Julian is a quick and strong 6-4 guard, who can handle the ball and plays great defense," said SXU men's basketball coach Tom O'Malley. "He takes the ball strong to the basket, but also has a good pull-up jump shot. We are excited to sign Julian and expect great things from him in the future."
