Men's Basketball - Fri, May. 5, 2006
CHICAGO - Ken Black, a 6-4 senior guard/forward at Chicago Christian High School in Palos Heights, Ill., will continue his athletics and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's basketball program. Black played under head coach Ross Douma at Chicago Christian and finished his prep career as the school's second all-time leading scorer with 1,386 points.

Black is a native of Blue Island, Ill., and plans to pursue a degree in business at Saint Xavier University. Although he played both guard and forward in high school, SXU men's basketball coach Tom O'Malley will likely keep him playing at the guard position during his collegiate career.

"Ken is a good three-point shooter and athlete," said O'Malley. "I believe he will be a good wing player in college after being one of the area's leading three-point shooters out of high school. Ken is a great student and was a triple-sport athlete at Chicago Christian so he is used to succeeding at whatever he puts his mind to."
