CHICAGO – Senior guard Suzie Broski (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) led the way with 21 points as the No. 4 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team jumped out to a 15-0 lead early and never trailed in a 96-41 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory over Trinity International University (Ill.) Saturday afternoon at the Shannon Center in Chicago, Ill.  The Cougars (25-2 overall/16-0 CCAC) used a stout defense to limit the Trojans to just 21 percent shooting (14-for-67) from the field and racked up 13 steals in the game, which helped generate 26 SXU points off 22 TIU turnovers.  Senior forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) also had a big game narrowly missing a triple-double with 19 points, nine rebounds and nine assists over 19 minutes of action.  Saint Xavier extended its current win streak to 14 games with Saturday's victory.

Junior center Caitlin McMahon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished with eight points, six rebounds and four assists for the Cougars Saturday.  Sophomore guard Mikayla Leyden (Chicago, Ill./Trinity) and senior forward Margaret Wildner (Oak Lawn, Ill./Mother McAuley) also each scored eight points in the win, while freshman center Brittany Collins (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) recorded six points and seven rebounds.  Twelve of SXU's 13 players scored at least three points in the game and the outcome was never in doubt as the Cougars led by double digits (10-0) less than three minutes into play.  Hitting 56 percent of its shots (20-for-36) from the floor in the first half, SXU led 49-19 at the half.

Saint Xavier (25-2 overall/16-0 CCAC) heads downtown to take on conference foe Roosevelt University (Ill.) on Wednesday, February 18.  The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off at the Goodman Center in Chicago.
