CHICAGO – Averaging an impressive eight three-pointers and 30.0 points per game in a pair of wins during the seven-day period from January 12-18, Saint Xavier University freshman guard Kara Krolicki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) has earned her first-ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week award when it was announced by the league office Tuesday morning.  She helped the Cougars pick up wins over Indiana University-Northwest (Ind.) and CCAC rival Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) on the week.

Krolicki tied a single-game school record and helped establish a new team record with her nine three-pointers in 13 attempts in a 108-73 victory over IU-Northwest last Wednesday.  As a team, Saint Xavier made a school-record 20 treys that night.  Overall, Krolicki was 10-of-15 from the field en route to a collegiate-high 29 points.  She also registered three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the non-conference contest.  Krolicki's career-high lasted all of three days as she notched a game-high 31 points, courtesy of another seven treys, in a 105-97 conference victory against Olivet Nazarene Saturday.  Her other numbers included four assists, two rebounds and two steals.

For the two games, Krolicki nearly shot better from three-point range (.485, 16-of-33) than overall (.488, 21-of-43), while making a pair of free throws in as many attempts.  She also averaged 3.5 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest.  Currently, Krolicki ranks No. 2 in the conference in three-pointers made averaging 3.1 a game and No. 7 overall in the league in scoring averaging 16.2 points a game.

Saint Xavier is ranked No. 4 in the latest NAIA II Coaches' Poll with marks of 17-2 overall and 8-0 in league play.  The Cougars continue their season on Wednesday, January 21, with a conference road game against Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) at 5 p.m. in Whiting, Ind.
