CHICAGO – Hitting a new program record 20 three-pointers in the game, including a record-tying nine three-pointers by freshman guard Kara Krolicki (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East), the No. 4 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team continued its hot streak with a 108-73 victory over Indiana University-Northwest Wednesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  The Cougars (16-2 overall) lit up Bob Hallberg Court connecting on 57 percent (20-for-35) of their three-point attempts for the game, including 16 triples in the first half en route to a halftime score of 69-42.  The program record for most points in a half is 78 set on November 17, 2007, in a 138-68 home win over Purdue University-Calumet (Ind.).

Krolicki led all scorers Wednesday with 29 points on 10-for-15 shooting from the floor, including 9-for-13 from three-point range.  She tied the program's record of nine three-pointers, which was originally set by former Saint Xavier standout Angie Brown on January 23, 2007.  Senior forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) also had a huge game with 16 points and game-best 15 rebounds, her 13th double-double of the season.  Stuut also tallied five assists and five steals towards the winning effort.  Junior center Caitlin McMahon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) posted 10 points and seven rebounds, while sophomore guard Mikayla Leyden (Chicago, Ill./Trinity) chipped in 10 points and five assists.  The Cougars have been red hot as of late scoring over 100 points in three of their last four games and defeating opponents by an average margin of 40.4 points over the last five contests.

The game was close over the first five minutes of action with the score knotted at 11-11 with 15:00 left in the first half.  A lay-up by McMahon sparked an 11-0 run for SXU over the next two minutes.  The RedHawks hung around until midway through the first half when an 18-6 run put the Cougars up, 42-25.  A barrage of three-pointers in the final minutes of the first half gave SXU its 27-point edge at the break.  SXU extended its lead as high as 42 points multiple times in the second half.  Senior forward Margaret Wildner (Chicago, Ill./Mother McAuley) hit the three-pointer that broke the program's old mark of 18 when she found the bottom of the net with 7:08 left to play.

Saint Xavier (16-2 overall/7-0 CCAC) gets back to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play on Saturday, January 17.  The Cougars host Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) at the Shannon Center in a 1 p.m. match-up.
