CHICAGO - Rob St. Clair, a senior at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. St. Clair played at both the midfield and defender positions during his prep career at Waubonsie Valley under Angelo DiBernardo and will continue to play at both positions (wingback or outside midfield) this fall at SXU.
St. Clair is the son of Scott and Jinny St. Clair, also of Aurora. He plans to pursue a degree in business while attending Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic feels that St. Clair has the talent and work ethic to compete for playing time as a freshman.
"Rob is another great addition to Saint Xavier and our roster," said Vucinic. "He is a quality person, who possesses a great amount of skill and is not afraid of doing the dirty work that needs to get done. He has played with and against extremely tough competition in high school and on the club level, so that experience will serve us well."
