Elgin, Ill. - Behind a goal apiece from sophomore midfielder Jessica Martinez (Hickory Hills, Ill./Stagg) and senior midfielder Aleks Sudar (Omaha, Neb./Omaha Bryan), the No. 5 Saint Xavier University women's soccer team got its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) slate off to a good start with a 2-0 win over Judson University (Ill.) Wednesday in Elgin, Ill. The Cougars got their first goal of the game in the 21st minute of play when Martinez headed the ball in following a rebounded save attempt by the Judson goalkeeper. SXU added an insurance goal late when Sudar found a hole in the right corner of the goal off a corner kick pass from senior forward Lissa Coby (Ingleside, Ill./Grant Community) in the 86th minute of regulation. The Cougars out-shot the Eagles, 12-8, in the game with 10 of their 12 shots on goal.
