South Bend, Ind. - Freshman Taylor Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) finished in a tie for eighth place overall in leading the Saint Xavier University women's golf team to a sixth place team finish Saturday at the two-day Pilot Spring Invitational hosted by Bethel College (Ind.) at Blackthorn Golf Club in South Bend, Ind. Thompson shot a combined score of 164 with a round of 84 on Friday and an 80 on Saturday. The Cougars scored a 767 as a team with 398 on day one and 369 in the final round.

(Mokena, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) finished the Invitational in 20th place with a two-day score of 176 (86, 90). Freshman Courtney Dudgeon
(Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) placed in a tie for 22nd place with a total score of 181 (97, 84), while freshman Ashley Anderson
(Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) took 37th place with a score of 246 (131, 115). Host Bethel College won the event with a two-day team score of 613 (304, 309).
Saint Xavier gets back to action on Wednesday, April 23, to compete in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Golf Championship. The two-day tournament takes place at Gleneagles Golf Course in Lemont, Ill.
