Kansas City, Mo. - For the second straight year, Saint Xavier University junior forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) was named a first team member of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball All-America Team when the honors were released by the national office Wednesday afternoon.  Stuut and Roosevelt (Ill.) guard Casey Davis, both representatives of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC), headline the eight repeat selections from a year ago with both making their second-straight appearance on the first team.  The 2013-14 All-America Teams consist of a 10-member first team, a 10-member second team, a 10-member third team and 30 players named to the honorable mention squad.

Averaging 20.6 points and 12.9 rebounds per game, Stuut had an amazing season leading the entire NAIA in double-doubles with 25 and ranking among the top 15 nationally in seven different statistical categories, including points per game, rebounds per game, total assists (145), total steals (83) and total points (681).  The two-time NAIA National Player of the Week and seven-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Player of the Week set or tied several school records during the season, which included points in a game (40), rebounds in a game (23), rebounds in a season (427) and points in a season (681).  The two-time CCAC Player of the Year (2012-13 & 2013-14) helped lead the Cougars to a 27-6 overall record, a share of the CCAC regular season crown, a No. 6 final national ranking and a berth in the NAIA Division II National Championship.

"With the season Morgan had, this award should come as no surprise," said SXU women's basketball coach Bob Hallberg.  "She was our leader on the court and a large reason why we had such a successful season.  Between this award and the fact that she is one of three finalists for the WBCA's NAIA Player of the Year award, Morgan has definitely proven herself one of the best in the country for our level of play and I could not be more happy for her."
