CHICAGO – Saint Xavier University freshman Taylor Thompson (East Galesburg, Ill./Knoxville) used a 36-hole score of 157 at last week's Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) Spring Invitational to earn Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Golfer of the Week honors for the seven-day period ending March 16 when it was announced by the league office on Tuesday. Thompson shot rounds of 78 and 79 to finish in a tie for sixth place out of 35 golfers at the meet, which was played at Antelope Hills South Golf Course in Prescott, Ariz. on Monday and Tuesday. The first competition of the spring season, Saint Xavier placed sixth out of seven teams at the event.
Saint Xavier continues its spring season at the end of the month taking part in the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Invite in Lockport, Ill. on March 28-29. The event takes place at the Prairie Bluff Golf Course.
