Cincinnati, Ohio – Behind a school record-tying 16 service aces, the Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team cruised to a NAIA Great Lakes Division road victory over Cincinnati Christian College (Ohio) Saturday afternoon at Jill Rendel Court in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Cougars (3-11 overall/3-3 GLD) won the match in three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-15 and 25-11. Senior middle blocker J.T. O'Connell (Evergreen Park, Ill./Brother Rice) was impressive offensively totaling nine kills and no attacking errors en route to a stellar attacking percentage of .900.
Sophomore middle blocker Sam Kull (Darien, Ill./Downers Grove South) also played well for SXU Saturday posting five kills, five service aces and seven total blocks (two solos. Freshman setter Moises Lopez (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) had 19 assists and two block assists, while freshman Dan O'Keefe (Evergreen Park, Ill./Loyola (La.)/St. Rita) led the Cougars defensively with 10 digs. SXU had 22 kills in the match compared to just seven errors for a team attack percentage of .326.
