Men's Soccer - Fri, Oct. 27, 2006
CHICAGO - Sophomore goalkeeper James Kline (Canton, Ohio/Perry), who was moved to the forward position for this game, logged a goal and an assist as the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 non-conference road victory over Moody Bible Institute (Ill.) Thursday night in Chicago. It was a huge day for the SXU keepers since freshman goalkeeper Ian Pickett (Mokena, Ill./Providence Catholic) finished with five saves and posted his second straight shutout.

Junior forward Sinisa Vidakovic (Loves Park, Ill./Rockford College) scored the game's first goal on a header off a cross from freshman forward Vinnie Rizzo (Burbank, Ill./Mount Carmel) in the 19th minute. The Cougars struck again in the 35th minute when Almir Hot (Belgrade, Serbia/Lindenwood University) found the back of the net off a Kline assist. With less than five minutes to play in regulation, Kline scored the third and final goal for SXU off an assist from Vidakovic. It was the first goal of Kline's two-year collegiate career.

Saint Xavier (10-8 overall, 5-4 CCAC) will now take the No. 5 seed into the 2006 CCAC Men's Soccer Tournament, which begins Saturday. The Cougars will face No. 4 seed Olivet Nazarene University (Ill.) at 1:30 p.m. in quarterfinals action in Bourbonnais, Ill.
