The game was back and forth over the first seven minutes of play before SXU used a 9-0 run capped by a three-point play by Karp to build a 10-point edge, 20-10, with nine minutes left to play in the frame.  The Cougars took a 40-33 lead into the halftime break and extended their advantage early in the second half going ahead by as many as 20 points near the midway point of the second half.  SXU had another solid shooting effort hitting 52 percent of its shots from the field (34-for-65).  The Cougars also took care of the basketball committing just three turnovers on the night.

Saint Xavier (25-4 overall/15-3 CCAC) closes out the 2013-14 regular season slate on Saturday, February 22, with a road game against conference foe Trinity Christian College.  The game is scheduled for a 3 p.m. start in Palos Heights, Ill.
