Joliet, Ill. - For the second straight week and the seventh time this season, Saint Xavier University senior guard Brad Karp (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week when it was announced by the league office on Tuesday.  Karp earned the honor this time after hitting the 30-point mark in each of two conference games during the week ending Feb. 16.  He averaged 31.0 points per game on .568 shooting from the field (21-of-37), while also hauling in an average of 8.5 boards per game in a pair of split decisions for the Cougars.

Karp opened the week with 30 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks in an 82-76 home setback to Robert Morris University (Ill.) on Wednesday.  He then hit for 32 points to go along with nine rebounds and two steals in an 80-72 road victory over Trinity International University (Ill.) this past Saturday.  With his 62 points on the week, Karp moved into the No. 6 spot in career scoring in Illinois college basketball history with 2,748 total points.  He also ranks fourth in the NAIA this season in scoring (26.7 ppg), sixth in steals (2.6 per game) and eighth in field goal percentage (.614).

Saint Xavier, which has a No. 5 national ranking, is 24-4 overall and 14-3 in conference play.  The Cougars host their final regular season home game of the year on Wednesday, February 19, with a 7 p.m. conference game against Roosevelt University (Ill.) at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  Prior to the game, the three seniors on the team will be recognized in honor of "Senior Night."
