Men's Cross Country - Sat, Sep. 8, 2007
Grand Rapids, Mich. - Led by a ninth-place finish by senior Steven Bugarin (Chicago, Ill./Washington), the Saint Xavier University men's cross country team finished sixth out of nine teams at the extremely competitive Aquinas Cross Country Open Friday afternoon at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Mich. Bugarin finished the 8K (8,000-meter) race with a time of 26:28.

In addition to Bugarin, other Cougar finishers Friday included freshman Evan Lowry (Horton, Mich./Hanover-Horton) at 39th with a time of 27:55, freshman Roy Witty (Mount Greenwood, Ill./Marist) in 65th at 29:18, sophomore John Neisler (Armington, Ill./Olympia) at 76th place with a time of 30:10, sophomore Eli Hoffman (Mount Morris, Ill./Oregon) in 78th at 30:15, freshman Joel Wojcik (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) in 84th at 31:13, and freshman Matt Corley (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) in 85th place with a time of 31:19. There were 103 total runners in Friday's race at Aquinas College.

Saint Xavier continues its season next weekend by participating in the National Catholic Championships hosted by the University of Notre Dame (Ind.) in South Bend, Ind. The meet will kick off at 4:15 p.m. (eastern) on Friday, September 14, at the Burke Memorial Golf Course in South Bend.
