Elgin, Ill. – Junior forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) scored 24 points and pulled down seven rebounds in leading No. 6 ranked Saint Xavier University to a big 90-56 road win over Judson University (Ill.) in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's basketball action Saturday afternoon in Elgin, Ill. In addition to Stuut, the Cougars (22-4 overall/12-2 CCAC) had three other players score in double figures. SXU never trailed in the game after jumping out to a 30-15 lead in the first half.
Senior point guard Niara Harris (Richton Park, Ill./Robert Morris/Rich South) came off the bench for Saint Xavier to score 14 points and record three steals. Junior guard Suzie Broski (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) chipped in 12 points and six rebounds toward the winning effort, while sophomore forward Caitlin McMahon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) posted 10 points and five boards. SXU led 42-28 at halftime and really poured it on in the second half shooting 52 percent (16-for-31) to go ahead by as many as 40 points.
Saint Xavier (22-4 overall/12-2 CCAC) hosts Robert Morris University in conference play on Wednesday, February 12. The game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start on Bob Hallberg Court at the Shannon Center in Chicago.
