Arlington Heights, Ill. - Powered by four players in double figures and a solid shooting effort of 53 percent (43-for-81), the No. 8 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team pulled away in a big way in the second half to claim a 104-69 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) road win over Robert Morris University (Ill.) Saturday at the RMU Athletic & Convocation Center in Arlington Heights, Ill.  Junior forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) led the way with her eighth double-double of the season boasting team-bests of 27 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists.  The 104 points was SXU's highest scoring total in a game this season surpassing the 87 points the team scored in a conference victory over Trinity International University (Ill.) back on November 13.

Junior guard Suzie Broski (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) also had a nice outing for Saint Xavier with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals.  Sophomore forward Caitlin McMahon (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) also tallied a double-double performance for the Cougars with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Mikayla Leyden (Chicago, Ill./Trinity) provided a big lift off the bench with 12 points on perfect 5-for-5 shooting from the field.  Saint Xavier was dominant on the boards racking up 53 rebounds in the game compared to just 35 for Robert Morris.  The Cougars also did an excellent job of taking care of the basketball committing just seven turnovers in the ballgame.

SXU was in control for nearly the entire game jumping out to an early 10-2 edge and leading by as many as 23 points late in the first half.  However, the host Eagles used an 18-3 run in the final four minutes of the frame to cut the halftime lead to just eight, 47-39.  It took just a couple of minutes in the second half for SXU to reestablish its double-digit advantage and continued to build on it the rest of the way taking its largest lead of the day, 104-69, on a lay-up by junior forward Margaret Wildner (Oak Lawn, Ill./Mother McAuley) in the closing seconds.

Saint Xavier (9-3 overall/4-1 CCAC) heads to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., next week for a pair of games at the Cruzin Classic Tournament.  The Cougars play their first game against No. 9 ranked Oklahoma Baptist University (Okla.) on Thursday, December 19, at noon (eastern).  SXU wraps up play in the Classic with an 11:30 a.m. (eastern) game on Friday, December 20, against No. 19 Briar Cliff University (Iowa).
