Women's Cross Country - Mon, Dec. 9, 2013

Kansas City, Mo. – Juniors Amanda Magee (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way North) and Dana Martin (Chicago, Ill./Marist) both represented Saint Xavier University as two of 296 NAIA women's cross country student-athletes nationwide named as 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes when the honors were recently released by the national office.  Magee, a nursing major at SXU, and Martin, a history major, helped lead the Cougars to a fifth-place team finish at the 2013 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Cross Country Championship back on November 9.

In order to be nominated as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the honor.
