Kansas City, Mo. – Senior Shane Kenney (Porter, Ind./Chesterton) represented Saint Xavier University as one of 223 NAIA men's cross country student-athletes nationwide named as 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes when the honors were recently released by the national office.  Kenney, a communications major at SXU, was instrumental in helping lead the Cougar men's cross country team to a 19th-place finish, its highest postseason finish, at the 2013 NAIA Cross Country National Championships on November 23.

In order to be nominated as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the honor.
