Kansas City, Mo. – Senior midfielder James King (Downers Grove, Ill./College of DuPage/Downers Grove South) represented Saint Xavier University as one of 355 NAIA men's soccer student-athletes nationwide named as 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes when the honors were released by the national office Friday.  King, a nursing major at SXU, played and started in 17 of the Cougars' 19 games this fall and recorded a goal and an assist.

In order to be nominated as a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, have achieved junior academic status and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for the honor.
