Towson, Md. – Saint Xavier University senior linebacker Zach Dolph (Crest Hill, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and junior defensive lineman Greg Hayward (Oak Lawn, Ill./Oak Lawn Community) both earned first team spots on the 2013 Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Football Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) when the prestigious honors were announced Monday.  The Capital One College Division Academic All-America® Football Team is comprised of student-athletes from NAIA, Canadian and two-year institutions.  To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00 and have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution.

A finance and mathematics double major with a 3.63 GPA, Dolph topped the Mid-States Football Association (MSFA) Midwest League with 112 total tackles, while posting three sacks, three interceptions, five pass breakups and four forced fumbles for Saint Xavier.  He took first-team all-league honors as well as a pair of NAIA Defensive Player of the Week awards this season.  Dolph also set a new school record with 23 tackles against William Penn University (Iowa) on Oct. 26 in Chicago.  A criminal justice and sociology major with a 3.80 GPA, Hayward notched 50 total tackles to go along with team-bests of 16.0 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.  He also earned MSFA All-Midwest League first team recognition this fall.  Hayward was a first team selection on the Capital One Academic All-America® College Division Football Team in 2012 as well.  SXU was one of just six schools in the nation to boast two honorees on the first team. 

Saint Xavier finished the 2013 season with an overall record of 7-4.  The Cougars finished third in the final MSFA Midwest League standings with a 4-2 mark and ranked No. 18 in the final NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
