CHICAGO – Hitting career-highs with 14 kills and four service aces, sophomore right side Meghan Falsey (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) helped lead the Saint Xavier University volleyball team to a key Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) victory over Judson University (Ill.) on "Family Night" Thursday at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  SXU won the first two sets by scores of 25-20, but then dropped the third set, 19-25.  SXU then bounced back in the fourth set to secure the match, 25-19.  The regular season finale win moved the Cougars up one spot in the conference standings and secured the No. 6 seed in next week's CCAC Volleyball Tournament.

Other key performers for Saint Xavier Thursday were junior middle hitter Marie Hackert (Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial) and junior setter Kelli Shaffer (Heyworth, Ill./Heyworth).  Hackert posted 14 kills and four total blocks (three solos), while Shaffer had 43 assists, 11 digs and a pair of service aces.  Junior defensive specialist/outside hitter Jessica Galotta (Chicago, Ill./Parkland CC/Mother McAuley) had six kills and 19 digs for the Cougars.  Junior libero Dominique Aramburu (Chicago, Ill./UIC/Mother McAuley) led SXU with 22 digs to go along with two aces.  Freshman right side Natalie Carberry (Palos Heights, Ill./Shepard) provided a nice lift off the bench with eight kills and four digs.

Saint Xavier (16-13 overall/9-8 CCAC) takes the weekend off in preparation for next week's CCAC Volleyball Tournament, which begins on Tuesday, November 12.  The Cougars have the No. 6 seed for the eight-team event and will learn their first round opponent later this week when regular season conference play has concluded.
