Milwaukee, Wis. – A goal by sophomore midfielder Jordan Lott in the 42nd minute of play was the difference as the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team failed to score in a 1-0 loss to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.) Tuesday evening at the Uihlein Soccer Complex in Milwaukee, Wis. The Cougars (4-10-1 overall/2-7-0 CCAC) had plenty of scoring opportunities racking up 14 total shots in the game with eight of those attempts on goal. Junior Danielle Koncius (Palos Hills, Ill./Heartland CC/Stagg) got the start in goal for SXU and finished the game with six saves.
Freshman midfielder Anna Stadler posted the assist for the Wolves on the game-winning goal. The Cougars have had trouble generating offense throughout the month of October failing to score a goal in four of the seven games the team has played since the first of the month.
Saint Xavier (4-10-1 overall/2-7-0 CCAC) takes a week off and returns to action on Tuesday, October 29, with a non-conference game against Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Stuart Field in Chicago.
