CHICAGO – Limited to just three total shots in the game, the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team suffered its third straight loss of the season (0-3) falling 4-0 to visiting University of Northwestern Ohio in its home opener Saturday afternoon at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. Morning thunderstorms delayed the start of the game by an hour and a half due to the late start of the previous women's soccer game. Junior forward Lorenzo Savino (Palatine, Ill./Harper JC/Fremd) and junior midfielder Tom Lojek (Palos Hills, Ill./Stagg) each posted a shot on goal for SXU Saturday.
Junior keeper AJ Pfatschbacher (West Dundee, Ill./Jacobs) finished the game with three saves as Saint Xavier's starting goalkeeper. The Racers scored a pair of goals in the first half, both coming off free kicks. Sophomore midfielder Jure Spiller scored both of the first-half goals with the first one coming in the 13th minute and the second in the 22nd minute. In the 65th minute, freshman forward Peguy Ngatcha scored the third goal on a shot off a rebounded ball off the post. The game's final score came in the 76th minute on a penalty kick goal by sophomore defender Ryan Cotton. Northwestern Ohio finished the game with 10 shots, including seven on goal.
