Springfield, Ill. -- Junior midfielder Paul Herbst (Cary, Ill./McHenry CC) scored all three Saint Xavier University goals to lead the Cougar men's soccer team over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) foe Robert Morris College (Ill.), 3-0, Tuesday in Springfield, Ill. The win improves the Cougars to 7-2-1 overall and 3-0 in league play.
Junior forward and team co-captain Chris Bartley (Park Forest, Ill./Moraine Valley CC) assisted Herbst's first two goals of the game, which came in the 13th and 20th minutes, respectively. Sophomore midfielder Fabian Neprjachin (Halle, Germany/Bellevue University recorded the assist on the final goal of the game in the 69th minute of regulation. Senior goalkeeper Enrique Orejel (Chicago, Ill./Curie) finished the game with eight saves for Saint Xavier.
The Cougars continue their CCAC road trip on Saturday, October 2, with a game against Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
