Joliet, Ill. – Saint Xavier University sophomore Kyle Bahnick (Inverness, England/Carthage College/Palatine-Fremd) became the first Cougar to ever claim Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Golfer of the Week honors, which were announced late Wednesday. Bahnick won the individually-scored Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) Spring Shootout on Monday, April 15, with a round of 72 at the Briar Leaf Golf Club in LaPorte, Ind. A total of 41 golfers competed at the event, the team's only competition of the week.
Saint Xavier completed its first golf season earlier this week with a third-place finish at the 11-team CCAC Golf Championships at Balmoral Woods Golf Course in Crete, Ill. Bahnick finished in 19th place overall at the conference tournament with a two-day round of 159 (81, 78).
