CHICAGO – Cranking out 30 combined hits on the day, the No. 13 ranked Saint Xavier University softball team had no trouble adding two more wins to its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) record Sunday afternoon in a doubleheader sweep of Purdue University-North Central (Ind.) at the SXU Softball Field in Chicago. Both games lasted only five innings apiece as the Cougars won the first one, 16-1, and the second by a score of 13-4. Senior third baseman Kate Mollohan (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) had a huge day offensively going a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate with a double, four runs scored and six RBI. Saint Xavier already had a 17-game win streak earlier this season.
Sophomore first baseman Amanda Hainlen (Bloomington, Ill./Heartland CC/Bloomington) was also unstoppable at the plate Sunday going a combined 6-for-6 as well with a homer, four runs scored and five RBI.
