CHICAGO - Don Serio, a senior defender from Brother Rice High School in Chicago, has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. He was coached by Nick Markulin during his prep career for the Crusaders of Brother Rice High School.
The Chicago native is the son of James and Cindy Serio. Serio plans to pursue a degree in communications next year at Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic plans to continue to use Serio at the defender position next fall.
"Don possesses a lot of the qualities we are looking for in our players," said Vucinic. "He is a fierce competitor, tireless worker and tackles hard. He will definitely add bite to our defense and overall play. I'm happy Don has decided to join us here at Saint Xavier."
