CHICAGO - Heather Goodrich, a senior triple-jumper at Andrew High School in Tinley Park, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both her athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's track program. The Tinley Park, Ill., native is expected to make an immediate impact on the indoor/outdoor track teams at SXU next season.
Goodrich is the daughter of Jay and Carolyn Goodrich of Tinley Park. She plans to pursue a degree in secondary education/mathematics next year at Saint Xavier University. Goodrich was coached by Tom Kearney with the Thunderbolts girl's track team.
"Heather has the strength and potential to be a national caliber jumper," said Saint Xavier University women's cross country/track coach Lisa Ebel. "In high school, she was a multi-sport athlete and now being able to concentrate on track will allow her to perfect her already solid skills. She should be an immediate national qualifier in the triple jump."
