Point Lookout, Mo. - Saint Xavier University junior guard Brad Karp (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso) and senior point guard Roosevelt Green (Markham, Ill./Tinley Park) were both recognized on the 2012-13 NAIA Division II Men's Basketball All-America teams when the national office released the honors Wednesday. Karp was one of just 10 players nationally to earn second team honors, while Green claimed a spot on the honorable mention squad. The All-America Teams are selected by the NAIA All-America committee. In addition, Karp and senior guard Shane Zackery (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) were both honored as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes this week. To be named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a player must have reached at least junior academic status and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale.

Karp was an eight-time Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week honoree and also named the 2012-13 CCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year. He finished second in the conference in scoring averaging 21.4 points per game and tied for the league lead in rebounding averaging 8.8 boards a game. He ranked No. 8 nationally in points per game and No. 19 in rebounds per game. Green led the conference in assists per game (7.0 apg) and finished third nationally in the same category. He also finished second in the CCAC in steals per game (2.2 spg), which ranked him No. 23 in the NAIA, and averaged 11.6 points on the year as well.

Saint Xavier recently wrapped up one of its best seasons in program history with a 29-6 overall record and a second-place finish in the CCAC behind only 2013 NAIA National Champion Cardinal Stritch University (Wis.). The Cougars qualified for the second round of the NAIA Division II National Championships last week, their deepest postseason run since earning a spot in the NAIA Division I Quarterfinals during the 2004-05 campaign.
