CHICAGO - Heath Taylor, a senior catcher at Goshen High School in Goshen, Ind., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar baseball program. Taylor is an all-conference player for the Goshen Redskins under coach Jim Speicher.

Taylor is the son of Phil and Sheila Taylor of Goshen. He plans to pursue a degree in accounting next year at Saint Xavier University. With the graduation of seniors Ryan Buchler (Schererville, Ind./South Suburban CC) and Brian Grupp (Granger, Ind./Mishawaka Penn), Taylor has the opportunity to make an immediate impact in the Cougar line-up next season.

"We are really excited about the addition of Heath to our program," said Saint Xavier University head baseball coach Mike Dooley. "We have always found good catchers from the northwest Indiana area and I believe Heath will be no exception. He has the ability to be an outstanding catcher at the collegiate level."
