Joliet, Ill. - Saint Xavier University junior forward Lissa Coby (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and NAIA Region VII Women's Soccer Player of the Week when the league office in Joliet, Ill released the honor Tuesday. Coby led the No. 9 ranked Cougars to two big wins over Grand View College (Iowa) and St. Ambrose University (Iowa), respectively, last week at the 2006 St. Ambrose Women's Soccer Tournament.
Coby finished with two goals and three assists on the week. She posted a goal in last Saturday's 4-2 victory over Grand View. In Sunday's 4-1 win over host St. Ambrose, Coby recorded a goal and had a hand in the remaining three goals with three assists as well in the game. Saint Xavier (5-1-0 overall) has its home opener on Wednesday, September 13, with a non-conference match-up against McKendree College (Ill.). Game time is set for 1 p.m. at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago.
