CHICAGO - Evan Lowry, a senior cross country and distance runner at Hanover-Horton High School in Horton, Mich., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's cross country and track programs. Lowry was coached by Dean Blackledge (cross country) and Dan Draper (track) during his prep career at Hanover-Horton High School.
Lowry is the son of Ken and Diane Lowry of Horton, Mich. He plans to pursue a degree in biology (pre-med) next year at Saint Xavier University. Lowry will run distance events at SXU during the indoor and outdoor track seasons in addition to his participation on the Cougar cross country team.
"Evan is a two-sport (cross country and track) all-stater," said Saint Xavier University men's cross country/track coach Ed McAllister. "He has the capability to step in and make an immediate impact with our team. Evan Lowry is a name that you'll be hearing regularly over the next four years, and we're thrilled to have been able to sign him at Saint Xavier."
