CHICAGO - Sophomore guard Suzie Broski (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) led the No. 8 ranked Saint Xavier University women's basketball team to a 71-66 victory over Robert Morris University (Ill.) scoring 25 points on impressive 12-of-15 shooting (80 percent) from the field Wednesday night at Attack Athletics in Chicago.  Sophomore guard/forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) picked up her 14th double-double of the season with 11 points and a game-best 14 rebounds.  Junior point guard Jordan Brandt (Winamac, Ind./Winamac) also played well joining Broski and Stuut in the double-figure scoring category with 11 points, including a perfect 3-of-3 from the three-point arc.  Wednesday's victory marked the 12th straight for the Cougars with the win streak starting back in mid-December.

SXU jumped out to an early 6-0 lead in the game's first two minutes and pushed its lead to as many as 10 points in the first half going up, 21-11, with just 10 minutes to go in the frame on a jumper by Stuut.  The host Eagles went on a 9-0 run over the next two and a half minutes to cut the lead to one, 21-20, but Saint Xavier increased its lead to as many as nine, 37-28, until a jumper by RMU sophomore guard Ashley Segers cut the SXU lead down to seven points, 37-30, at the halftime break.  The Cougars came out firing in the second half using a 7-0 run over the first two minutes to reach their largest lead of the night, 44-30, on a jumper by Broski.  RMU cut into the lead closing to within two points with eight minutes to play in the game, but SXU held tough and did not allow the Eagles to take the lead at any point in the contest.  Segers led Robert Morris with a double-double of 14 points and 12 boards on the night.  Junior guard Celeste Jones and junior forward Uniqua Hampton each chipped in 10 points for the hosts.  With the win, Saint Xavier dealt RMU its second home loss of the season and also snapped its four-game win streak.

Saint Xavier (19-3 overall/13-3 CCAC) returns home for a conference game against Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) on Saturday, January 26, at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  The game is slated to start at 1 p.m.
