CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University sophomore forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) pulled down a school-record 23 rebounds on Saturday, November 17, and then hauled in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the week ending Nov. 18 Tuesday. Stuut eclipsed the previous SXU mark (19 rebounds) by four caroms in an 81-58 victory over Trinity Christian College (Ill.). That was just half the story. She also authored 20 points, four steals, three assists and one block in 29 minutes of action.
Three days earlier, Stuut rang up 21 points, five rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals in Saint Xavier's 59-57 triumph over conference foe Roosevelt University (Ill.). Both CCAC victories came on the road with Stuut averaging 20.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 3.5 steals and 2.5 blocks in the two affairs. With the wins, the No. 6 ranked Cougars improved both their overall and conference marks to an identical 3-1 on the season.
Saint Xavier (4-1 overall, 4-1 CCAC) heads to Whiting, Ind., on Wednesday, November 28, for a conference game against Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.). The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start.
