CHICAGO -- Freshman forward Lissa Coby (Lake Villa, Ill./Grant Community) scored two goals to lead the Saint Xavier University women's soccer team over St. Ambrose University, 4-1, Friday in non-conference action at SXU stadium. The win improved the Cougars to 9-5-1 overall and ended the team's five-game winless streak, which began on September 24 with a 7-0 loss to University of Wisconsin-Parkside.

Coby scored the first two goals of the game with her first coming unassisted in the 11th minute of the game and her second just five minutes later on a pass from sophomore defender Kate Bingham (Lincoln, Neb./Pius X Catholic). Junior Jen Belmonte (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) tacked on a third goal with just under two minutes remaining in the first half off a pass from freshman midfielder Alana LoPresti (Darien, Ill./Hinsdale South) to send Saint Xavier into halftime with a 3-0 advantage.

Sophomore forward Angie Holmes (Shorewood, Ill./Providence Catholic) scored the Cougars' fourth goal of the day off an assist from junior defender Kristi Dockus (Oak Forest, Ill./Oak Forest) in the 70th minute of play. St. Ambrose got its lone score of the day with 12:52 remaining in regulation. SXU senior goalkeeper Judy Kazlauskas (Santa Ana, Calif./Fountain Valley) finished the game with 13 saves.

Saint Xavier gets back into its Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) schedule on Saturday, October 9, with an 11 a.m. game against Judson College (Ill.) at SXU stadium.
