The Cougars began the night honoring the seniors for ‘Senior Night' which included senior midfielder Luke Zeiler (Homer Glen, Ill./Nova Southeastern/St. Francis Ill./Lockport), senior defender Mike Kipta (Chicago, Ill./Stagg) and Breitenbach. The win keeps SXU tied for the number one spot in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) with Cardinal Stritch University with a record of 8-1-1.
Junior keeper Kyle Held (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) picked up his seventh shutout of the season after racking up two saves in the game. The Cougars finished the night with eight total shots with three on goal attempts. Robert Morris University had nine total shots with three of them also coming on goal.
Saint Xavier (12-4-1 overall/8-1-1 CCAC) travels to Bourbonnais, Ill., to take on CCAC rival Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday, October 27 for the final game of the regular season. The game kicks off at 7 p.m.
