Joliet, Ill. – Besting a field that featured runners from the top collegiate level at the University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC) Opener, Saint Xavier University junior Brian Corcoran (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice) claimed the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Male Runner of the Week honor for his performance over the weekend. Corcoran outdueled runners from NCAA Division I UIC and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee among others schools to win the 4.1-mile event. Corcoran posted a time of 20:58 to pace the field Saturday at the Horsetail Slough Course in Palos Heights, Ill.
Saint Xavier has a short week with its next meet, the Olivet Nazarene University Midwest Classic, scheduled for Friday, September 7. The men's race is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. start Friday at the Aspen Ridge Golf Course in Bourbonnais, Ill.
