Hillsdale, Mich. - Freshman Lauren Dentzman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) ran a qualifying time of 4:41.90 in the 1500-meter run Saturday at the Gina Relays hosted by Hillsdale College (Mich.) in Hillsdale, Mich. Dentzman beat the NAIA's "A" standard qualification time of 4:43.85 to earn a spot at the 2007 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Fresno, Calif., beginning May 24. She will compete in the prelims on May 24 with the finalists set to run on May 26.
"Lauren is running exceptionally well and just keeps getting faster and faster," said Saint Xavier University women's cross country/track coach Lisa Ebel. "I'm expecting a very impressive showing at the national meet. With the way she is currently running, she has a great chance of making it to the finals."
The 27th Annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships takes place from May 24-26 at the Steinert Campus Center on the campus of Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, Calif. The prelims for the women's 1500-meter run are scheduled to begin at 1:35 p.m. pacific time on Thursday, May 24.
