CHICAGO – Junior outside hitter Aaron Porter (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South) finished with team-highs of 17 kills, nine digs and two service aces; but it was not enough to get the Saint Xavier University men's volleyball team a victory as the Cougars lost a hard-fought battle with Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) Wednesday night at the Shannon Center in Chicago.  The Cougars (7-17 overall) fell in five sets by scores of 21-25, 25-18, 17-25, 25-23 and 13-15.  SXU were solid offensively posting 58 kills to just 13 errors for a team attack percentage of .338 for the match.

Freshman middle blocker Sean Blackwood (Manhattan, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) and sophomore outside hitter Justin Cousin (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) were also solid for the Cougars in Wednesday's match posting 11 and 10 kills, respectively.  Blackwood was tough at the net as well recording a team-best six block assists.  Freshman setter Jim Boyce (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew) delivered 34 assists for SXU on the night, while sophomore right side Evan Muys (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) had a nice all-around match with nine kills, six digs and three block assists.  Senior outside hitter Max Martin led the Raiders with 21 kills.

Saint Xavier (7-17 overall/4-8 MAMVIC) wraps up its 2012 regular season slate on Wednesday, March 28, with a non-conference match against Carthage College (Wis.).  The home match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at the Shannon Center.
