Joliet, Ill. – Saint Xavier University freshman guard/forward Morgan Stuut (Marcellus, Mich./Three Rivers) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week Tuesdaywhen the honor was released by the conference office. In three games last week, Stuut averaged a double-double of 14.7 points and 10.7 reboundsto help lead the No. 13 ranked Cougars to three victories over Holy Cross College (Ind.), McKendree University (Ill.) and Avila University (Mo.). It is the second time this season she has earned the weekly honor with her first coming on November 14.
Stuut shot a stellar 53 percent (19-for-36) from the field over the three-game stretch and also tallied a combined 10 assists, four blocks and eight steals. She is currently ranked No. 6 overall in the conference in scoring (12.6 points per game) and leads the CCAC in rebounding averaging 8.9 boards per game.
Saint Xavier (7-2 overall) heads to Bourbonnais, Ill., this weekend for two games at the Olivet Nazarene University CCAC Challenge. The Cougars will take on Houghton College (N.Y.) on Friday, December 2, at 6 p.m. and then wrap up tourney play on Saturday, December 3, with a 1 p.m. game against Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.).
