Bensenville, Ill. - Junior goalkeeper Fati Mohammed finished with 15 saves and kept Saint Xavier University off the scoreboard as Robert Morris College (Ill.) upset the No. 8 ranked Cougars, 1-0, Saturday night in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) women's soccer action Saturday night at Redmond Athletic Complex in Bensenville, Ill. SXU falls to 6-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference, while the Eagles improve to 5-1-1 overall with a 1-1 league mark.
Freshman Danielle Wagner (Worth, Ill./Stagg) got the start in goal for the Cougars and finished with four saves. Saint Xavier had numerous opportunities to score out-shooting Robert Morris, 19-10, in the game. The Eagles scored the game's lone goal on a breakaway by sophomore midfielder Maria Shipe in the 71st minute of play.
Saint Xavier (6-2 overall, 0-1 CCAC) returns to action on Wednesday, September 20, against CCAC foe Trinity International University (Ill.) at Bruce R. Deaton Memorial Field in Chicago. Start time for Wednesday's game is scheduled for 2 p.m.
