Kansas City, Mo. - The No. 5 ranked Saint Xavier University football team will head to Olathe, Kan., to face No. 4 MidAmerica Nazarene University (Kan.) for the quarterfinals of the 2011 NAIA Football Championship Series when the second round pairings were released by the NAIA national office Sunday morning.  The start time for the game will be 1 p.m. (central).  The Pioneers will bring a 10-1 overall record into next weekend's game.  The two schools will clash on the gridiron for the first time ever when they match up next Saturday.

"We are very excited to advance to the quarterfinals and continue our quest for a national championship," said SXU football coach Mike Feminis.  "MidAmerica Nazarene has a great program and have been regulars in the postseason over the last few years.  They will present a heck of a challenge for us, especially on the road."

MidAmerica Nazarene is coming off a 40-28 home victory over No. 14 Southern Nazarene University (Okla.) in yesterday's first round game of the NAIA Football Championship Series.  This is the Pioneers fifth straight trip to the postseason and won for the first time in the round of eight last season with a 34-10 home win over Morningside University (Iowa).  The team is an extremely balanced group ranked No. 7 in both total offense (428.9 yards per game) and total defense (248.7 yards allowed per game) in the NAIA heading into postseason play.  The Pioneers are coached by former Chicago Bears quarterback Jonathan Quinn, who also played for the Kansas City Chiefs and Jacksonville Jaguars.
