St. Augustine, Fla. – Despite a first-half goal by senior midfielder Jeff Hiltrop (Rockford, Ill./Colorado State-Pueblo/Boylan Catholic), the Saint Xavier University men's soccer team dropped the first game of its Florida trip, 7-1, to NCAA Division II Flagler College (Fla.) Thursday evening in St. Augustine, Fla.  The Cougars managed just four shots on goal in the game compared to 12 by the Saints.  With the loss, SXU falls to 7-6-0 overall this season, while Flagler improves to 9-3-1.

The Saints took an early 3-0 lead in the game with three goals within a five-minute span starting in the 13thminute.  Saint Xavier would answer in the 20thminute when Hiltrop scored on a header set up by a deflected cross from junior midfielder Kyle Breitenbach (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso University/Valparaiso).  Unfortunately for the Cougars, the rest of the game belonged to the Saints as they scored four unanswered goals in the second half to pull away for the 7-1 victory.  Sophomore keeper Kyle Held (Palatine, Ill./Palatine) got the start in goal for SXU and finished with five saves.

Saint Xavier (7-6-0 overall/5-1-0 CCAC) wraps up its Florida trip on Sunday, October 16, with an 11:30 a.m. (eastern) match-up against Savannah College of Art & Design (Ga.).  The game will be played on the campus of Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla.
