CHICAGO -- Chelsey Guay, a senior at Escanaba High School in Escanaba, Mich. (part of the Upper Peninsula), has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar women's volleyball team.
Guay, who resides in Escanaba, was coached by Mr. Kim Matthews at Escanaba H.S, where she was an outside hitter for the Eskymos. The 5-11 prep will serve as an outside hitter/middle blocker for the Cougars this fall. She is the daughter of Dave and Gail Guay, also of Escanaba, and plans to pursue a degree in nursing at SXU.
"Chelsey is another raw athlete who has a real hunger to become better," said SXU head women's volleyball coach Bob Heersema. "She will definitely have an opportunity to receive playing time in the fall."
