Joliet, Ill. – Saint Xavier University senior Rachael Dean (Lindenhurst, Ill./Judson University/Lakes) was named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week after winning the Bethel College Cross Country Invitational Saturday at Saint Patrick's County Park in South Bend, Ind. She also helped the No. 19 ranked Cougars win the meet as a team and finish ahead of three other ranked NAIA foes, including No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan University (Ind.) and No. 16 Aquinas College (Mich.). She finished second overall at the UIC Opener with a two-mile time of 11:34 and the Cougars finished in second place as a team that week as well.
Saint Xavier faces some tough competition this weekend heading to San Marco, Calif., for the Cougar Challenge on Saturday, October 15. The women's race is scheduled for an 8 a.m. (pacific) start. The host team, Cal. State-San Marcos, is currently ranked No. 2 in the latest NAIA Women's Cross Country Top 25 Poll.
