CHICAGO - Arturo Macias, a senior forward/center midfielder from Bremen High School in Midlothian, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. He was coached by Tom Schergan during his prep career for the Braves of Bremen High School.

The Posen, Ill., native is the son of Arturo and Imelda Macias of Posen. Macias plans to pursue a degree in international business next year at Saint Xavier University. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic plans to utilize Macias primarily in the midfield next fall.

"I think Arturo's signing might turn out to be a steal for our program," said Vucinic. "He is a talented player who for whatever reason managed to stay under the radar. He has good size and speed and has some bite to his play. I expect him to cause problems for our opponents from the outside."
