CHICAGO - Zoran Arsenovic, a senior midfielder at Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort, Ill., has signed a letter of intent to continue both his athletic and academic career at Saint Xavier University as a member of the Cougar men's soccer program. Hailing from Mokena, Ill., Arsenovic had a standout prep soccer career at Lincoln-Way East under the direction of Brian Papa. He will join the SXU roster this fall.
Arsenovic is the son of Rajko and Radenka Arsenovic of Mokena. SXU men's soccer coach Ed Vucinic is impressed with what Arsenovic accomplished while at Lincoln-Way East High School and the skill set he brings to the Cougar roster next season as a freshman.
"I'm thrilled about Zoran's decision to join us," said Vucinic. "He was Lincoln-Way East's Most Valuable Player last season and a big key for them in the center of the field. He also lettered in basketball at East and has excellent size, good feet and an instinctive feel for the game of soccer. I think most of his first season will be spent as an apprentice to some pretty good and experienced players in the center, but I would not be surprised if he found his way on the field for some significant minutes as a freshman."
