Men's Track & Field - Sat, Apr. 28, 2007
Hillsdale, Mich. - Saint Xavier University freshman John Neisler (Armington, Ill./Olympia) recorded a season-best time of 1:57.1 in the 800 meters at the Gina Relays in Hillsdale, Mich., this past Saturday. Freshman Eli Hoffman (Mount Morris, Ill./Oregon)clocked a 2:02.1 in the same event at the meet. The Gina Relays marks one of the top meets nationally, comprised almost entirely of NCAA Division I athletes.

"We're pretty far along and I am really seeing an improved level of talent with both of these athletes," said SXU men's track coach Ed McAllister. "We are starting to achieve our peak and I'm confident that both John and Eli will top off their season well in two weeks."

The Cougars take next weekend off in preparation for the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College (Ill.) on May 11. This meet is considered a "Last-Chance" meet in that all performances for the 2007 NAIA Championships must be recorded by this weekend.

" I feel that we'll be ready for our season's best performances," added McAllister.
